About the NGO
The NGO Patas Therapeutas works to bring the benefits of the coexistence with the animals to those in need. For this, it works with Assisted Therapy by Animals (ATA), where animals are fundamental to the process. Several different species, such as dogs, cats, birds and rabbits, work in process. The NGO also accepts volunteers without animals.
Branding and visual identity
Our work as volunteers involved creating all the visual identity of the NGO, which includes communication materials, promotional materials, illustrations, among others. We also managed for a long period its social networks and developed the current site of the NGO.
Designing the symbol
A key part of the visual identity was the symbol that would be part of the logo. After some research, we decided to create a unique symbol, uniting the forms coming from three different symbols. The paw makes direct reference to the "volunteers" of NGO, the animals. The heart represents love, care and well-being that is the result of their work. And the stethoscope carries a meaning of credibility, after all, the therapy is related with medicine.
In addition to the logo, we also created the tagline of the brand: "Rescuing love and joy to those who need it most."
Another important part in the process of this branding project was the creation of a mascot for the NGO. We designed a 3D mascot with a charismatic, caring and cheerful appearance, to be the face of the NGO in most of the developed materials, both printed and digital.
In addition to the 3D mascot, we also produced some illustrations for use in various materials, both printed and digital. We created some vectorized characters representing the various species of therapists (both human and animal). We also created some prints for promotional t-shirts, which were sold to raise funds.
The NGO website
To develop the site of the NGO, we used WordPress as a content management system. The site contains several specific sections such as events and visits calendar, listing of therapists animals, press and reports list of the NGO, among other content.
A key part of the branding project is the development of personality and language. We were responsible for the administration and management of the NGO's fanpage on Facebook for more than two years. During our working period, we have created several posts with various subjects that were related directly or indirectly to the activities of NGOs. All posts obeyed the basic guidelines of the visual identity and always tried to pass on the message of Patas Therapeutas through a mild, simple and humorous language.
